The solution is prepared by dissolving an appropriate amount of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) in distilled water to achieve a free chlorine concentration of 200 parts per million (ppm). Then, 0.1% (w/v) sodium dodecyl sulfate is added as a surfactant to improve wetting and cleaning efficiency. The solution should be freshly prepared or stored in opaque containers to minimize chlorine degradation.

🔬 Properties
This solution is clear, pale yellow with a strong chlorine odor. Chlorine acts as a strong oxidizing agent, capable of killing bacteria, viruses, and fungi. SDS, an anionic detergent, reduces surface tension, facilitating the removal of organic matter and biofilms. The combined solution exhibits synergistic disinfectant activity.
