بافر بیکربنات ۰٫۱ مولار (PH=9.6)
Bicarbonate Buffer 0.1 M (pH = 9.6) is an aqueous buffer solution commonly used in biochemical and molecular biology applications to maintain an alkaline pH environment.
🏭⚗️ Production
The buffer is prepared by dissolving sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO₃) in distilled water to a concentration of 0.1 M. The pH is adjusted to 9.6 using sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃) or by mixing appropriate amounts of sodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate solutions. The buffer is stored at room temperature in a clean container.
🔬 Properties
This buffer solution is clear and colorless with a stable alkaline pH of 9.6. It maintains the pH by balancing the equilibrium between bicarbonate (HCO₃⁻) and carbonate (CO₃²⁻) ions. It has good buffering capacity in the pH range of approximately 8.0 to 10.0.
🧪 Applications
Bicarbonate buffer at pH 9.6 is widely used in immunoassays such as ELISA for coating antigens or antibodies on microplates. It is also employed in biochemical assays where a mildly alkaline environment is required and in molecular biology protocols including nucleic acid hybridization.
⚠️ Safety
Bicarbonate buffers are generally safe and non-toxic but should be handled with standard laboratory precautions. Avoid ingestion and contact with eyes. Use gloves and safety goggles as necessary. Store in a tightly sealed container to prevent contamination.
