SS Pickling Solution I
SS Pickling Solution I is a specialized acidic treatment solution formulated for pharmaceutical and analytical laboratory use to clean, descale, and restore stainless steel equipment, vessels, piping, and instrumentation affected by heavy oxide layers, weld discoloration, and heat‑tinted surfaces.
🏭⚗️ Production
Prepared by blending high-purity inorganic acids with corrosion inhibitors, surfactants, and stabilizers under strictly controlled conditions to ensure consistent acid strength, metal removal efficiency, and solution stability. Supplied in acid-resistant, tightly sealed containers to prevent contamination, evaporation, or degradation. Standardization ensures reproducible cleaning performance suitable for laboratory and pharmaceutical applications.
🔬 Properties
A clear to slightly tinted, strongly acidic aqueous solution with high reactivity toward stainless steel oxide films, weld heat-tints, and surface impurities. Exhibits excellent wetting and penetration characteristics for uniform treatment of complex stainless steel geometries. Non-flammable but highly corrosive and reactive with incompatible substances. Stable under proper storage in cool, dry, tightly closed containers.
🧪 Applications
Used in pharmaceutical and analytical laboratories for cleaning and restoring stainless steel reactors, vessels, piping, fittings, and instrumentation. Removes oxide films, weld scale, and heat-tint while restoring the protective chromium-oxide passive layer. Suitable for immersion, circulation, or controlled spray applications. Surfaces should be thoroughly rinsed with deionized water after treatment and may undergo subsequent passivation for enhanced corrosion resistance and sterile/clean-room suitability.
⚠️ Safety
Extremely corrosive and hazardous; can cause severe chemical burns, eye injury, and respiratory irritation. Handle in a fume hood or well-ventilated area using full protective equipment including acid-resistant gloves, goggles or face shield, protective clothing, and apron. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and incompatible materials (strong bases, organics, oxidizers). Neutralize spills immediately and dispose of according to institutional and environmental safety regulations. Store in a tightly closed, chemically resistant container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from incompatible substances.
